WOW, I saw the heal/toe technique on the CD that came with my kit, but it was not taught with enough detail for me to figure it out. I was slamming my heal down and trying to make that a beat. LOL. Because of your detail, slow speed and shoe demo (I loved the different shoes to prove the point) now I got it! This is your best lesson so far because of how well you explained it. I like the slow down feature the best. We all learn differently, but this allows you to watch exactly what is happening and then try and copy it. At normal or fast speeds it is often tough or impossible to see/hear exactly what a drummer is doing. This breaks it down for us slow learners. I myself have to concentrate and repeat to learn or remember something slowly before it becomes natural. This is a very helpful tool...................Thanks..........Bob.

Excellent lesson, I think this demonstrates completely the general misconception that heel part of the heel toe technique is played with the heel of the foot when in fact as you can clearly see in the slowmo that the ball of the foot play's the note on the bass pedal. Great stuff...

Very cool lessons I started drumming at 48 and I play everyday I'm 53 now and could not to a shuffle, Like the one on "Smoking in the Boys Room" the Motley Crue version. After practicing the heel toe for about 3 or 4 hours I thought about the song again got out my sheet music and played it with 0 effort and actually enjoyed playing it...IOU big time THANKS.
Bye the way the heel toe is the first thing I did that I actually got right away it came naturally for me. Unlike everything else in drumming so far haha.

I love the idea of using rudiments on the bass drum. My old teacher started to go through with me before I stopped (due to lack of funds)..
